I kind of enjoyed the song, but not the image of a gun being pointed at me...

What you have to recognize, is that the gun "is not".. pointed at you!
(It is in reference to being "self-destructive," or emotionally unstable, in one's life. The video is just a mirror; reflecting, a convergence of thought...
...I hope this eases whatever discomfort the image might have stirred.)
